William A. Swendson
Bill genuinely believes that the value of life comes from service to others. He has dedicated more hours to this philosophy than our business manager would care to imagine. He has been rewarded kindly in the friends that he has made, the lessons that he has learned and the impact that he has made on the community. He never stops hunting for his next project.
Bill’s service to the community has been very broad in scope. He is currently President of the Village of Lac La Belle. He is legal advisor to St Jerome’s Catholic Church, and Holy Hill (Discalced Carmelite Friars). He also runs a free legal clinic. In the past he served as a member of the Oconomowoc school board, the Oconomowoc Hospital Foundation, and as a trustee of St. Jerome’s Catholic Church. He created a foundation for the Oconomowoc Rotary. He set up a non-profit corporation which provides medical services in Haiti. He has coached soccer for the Oconomowoc Soccer Association and Lake Country United.
It is this passion and dedication that has powered Bill’s law career. As founder and president of the firm, Bill has created and nurtured an organization that is dedicated to the service of our clients. He requires respect and dignity for everyone. He insists that every attorney and assistant obtain the training and continuing education necessary for the highest level of assistance to our clients. Bill practices what he preaches. He travels annually to seminars all over the country. He arranges for twice-monthly teleconferences for our attorneys and the financial planners/CPAs who are our strategic partners. He emphasizes active listening so that our team understands the range and depth of our clients’ needs. Bill provides client education so that they are empowered to meet the unique and unexpected challenges of life. His aim is to provide his clients with peace of mind. In the end, Bill wants our clients to be satisfied with their choice of our firm as their personal, family attorneys.
Bill concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration, but he is experienced in a wide-range of legal areas having represented financial institutions, medical facilities, real estate developers, condominium associations, real estate brokers, and business entities. He has a wide range of litigation experience including appellate work before the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Beyond that, he is a real estate broker and has a Masters of Tax degree in accounting.
It is this range of knowledge and experience that has allowed Bill to offer our clients superior legal service. The quality of Bill's work was recently recognized by Milwaukee Magazine which named him a FIVE STAR Wealth Manager for 2010. This elite group represents the top six percent of estate planners in the greater Milwaukee area. He looks forward to helping you.
